Can't get my RT314 router to work with my DSL connection... Please Help!

I have SNET DSL and it works fine when I use their EnterNet software. I want to share the connection between three computers in my house, so I tried to use Netgear's RT314 router. I uninstalled the EnterNet software and connected my PC to the router, and the router to the DSL Modem. I powered the router and the modem on, and rebooted my PC. I went through all the steps in the router's Wizard Setup, and I made sure "Obtain an IP automatically" was selected in the network control panel, but when the setup is done I still can't get to any Internet sites. I have tried putting in the DNS addresses manually and rebooting but that doesnt seem to help. When I run winipcfg, it shows the correct DNS address and IP address for the router. I checked the router, its link and internet lights are on, and the ready and link lights on the DSL modem are on. Has anyone had a similar problem or can someone just give me some suggestions of what else I can try?? Thanks.

Have you made sure you entered all the data and settings from you dsl provider into you router? Go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all. See if you can ping the ip addresses shown. If you get a successful ping, ping your isp. Or one of the dns ip's.
