Cant get my resolution higher than 1280x1024

I feel that I SHOULD be able to get higher resolution, but this is all i get 🙁

as far as i know i have the latest drivers
my monitor is a dell 1907FP

its a 19 inch lcd with a amx resolution of 12x10

That's because 19" monitors have a MAX resolution of 1280x1024, at least LCDs do.

Oh well, i thought i could get it a little higher than that.

Your LCD has only 1280x1024 physical pixels.

I've heard there are sometimes ways to force higher resolutions, but it's not going to look very good.

what i don't understand is why you can't force the higher resolution and then scroll around your desktop.

i suppose it's of limited application.
