I am running windows 2000pro
I have a linksys lne10/100tx LAN card installed into pci slot 4 of my abit ic7
this card is about 2.5 years old and i haven't used it since about december of 2002.
i had to use it because the ic7 doesn't have onboard LAN.
so i downloaded the drivers before i reformatted my hard drive (on to a nother partition) and have the drivers installed.
windows device manager shows the card installed properly
so i tried going to the command prompt and typing: ipconfig
and nothing shows up for the Connectionospecific dns suffix:
autoconifguration ip address shows up as 169.254.180.81
subnet mask 255.255.0.0
default gateway is blank
i am using insight high speed internet service and i know that my ip begins with 12.221......
when i try to do ipconfig /renew
the message that shows up is:
The following error occurred when renewing adapter Local Area Connection: DHCP Server unreachable
I also have a switch in which two computers (including the one that isn't working) are connected to the cable modem
i hope that was thorough enough... any help would be appreciated!
