I've spent so much money on buying equipment for this network.... and it ended up not working. Here's my situation:

-LinkSys 5 port 10baseT hub
Brand new, I don't think it's a problem with the hub
-Straight-through UTP cables (Made myself and tested with Tester)
One 15', one 10', and one 8' cable. All with the same wire color sequences.
Only one of the NIC's lights up when I plug the cable into it through to the hub.
-Windows ME on all three computers

Is there something that I'm overlooking?

yes, what exactly doesn't work? It sounds like the lights on the NICs don't light up, that's all I can gather.

We need more information. Are you using ME's internet Sharing wizard? details man, give us details.

I take it you're not getting LINK on the NICs. It's either drivers or cabling.

Sorry about that guys...
Well, I'm using ME's Home Networking Wizard which allows you to share internet connections.
There aren't any problems with the NIC's because I tried connecting two together directly and they all worked. (with a Cross-over cabling sequence)
When I tried to utilize the hub, only one of the NIC's would light up, and the rest wouldn't light up. Do you think it could be a problem with the cables? I tested all the cables for discontinuity and failures and the testers did not pick up anything.
I thought it was a problem with the cables, so I tried shifting the plug around inside the NIC and when I pushed the plug in a little tighter, the NIC lit up, but even when lit up, it would connect to the network.
That's basically all I can tell you off the top of my head...

If you shove the end of a cable in and the light comes on, it's a problem with your cabling, even if your tester says it's ok. Reend your cables and see how it goes.

do a little trouble shooting.

boot up the computer and test if nics initialized using ping 127.0.0.1, if so ping the computer's address (i.e. 192.168.0.1) then the router.

repeat for other comptuer
