Cant get my camera to turn on?

it has 2 lil slots for 2x AA batteries, ive tried them in every direction. Yet the thing wont turn on. Last time i remember i couldnt get it to turn off and had to take the batteries out. Is the switch dead? ive had the camera since janurary. its an aiptek dv4500

Try a sledgehammer....
 
You might have to hold down the power button for a small length of time. Or the camera thinks your ugly.
