It goes through setup just fine (either the text option or the install for the rage Mach64), but when it goes to boot up, it freezes after it checks for internet connections to start at boot. Should I disable that the next time I install it (I access the 'net through a LAN)? There are no other errors at boot though.

How long did you wait? It's probably trying to configure via DHCP and if there's no DHCP server it'll try a few times before it gives up.

I waited 30 minutes.

Actually, I reinstalled, and disabled my modem. I guess it was hanging on initializing all the 'net connections cuz I didn't configure the modem.

Anyway, now KDE isn't working. How do I start it manually through the command line?

I'll give it a try. Thanks Paulson.

Still not working right... Guess I'll try a reinstall. Error message:

fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
