Can't get LAN to work

I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro on this new mobo and can't get it to hook up to the internet. It's a Gigabyte 7N400Pro w/Lan on board. I have a D-Link 704P router hooked up and my other system connects OK. But the new one won't. I took the router off and hooked it up direct to my modem and it still wouldn't. I called my ISP and the tech tried to talk me through it, but she said to call Microsoft. I wouldn't think the XP Pro would have a problem with this if the XP Home doesn't. Could it be in the drivers for the mobo? When I check my LAN connection, it lists the IP address, and all the others as "not available".

Can your new XP Pro computer connect to the other system for file sharing? Have you tried swapping cables and things of that sort? Did you install the LAN drivers for the new motherboard?
