I got in on the AMD combo deal that this board came with. Have had no problems with install or anything. I'm just trying to use the onboard LAN/ethernet port, but I can't get it to work. I installed what I believe are the correct mobo drivers, etc, but no go. I also enabled onboard LAN in the bios. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The K8V Deluxe's CD-ROM should have the driver for the onboard 3Com gigabit NIC. Throw that in there and it should be on the AutoPlay menu.

Thanks, but I wasn't able to get that to work, Mech. WinXP did was able to automatically find the right driver though. FWIW, Device Manager says it's a Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet adapter. Does that sound right? Also, it's showing up twice under network connections. Why would that be? There's only one ethernet port that I see...

Is your K8V Deluxe the SE version? I think they did switch from 3Com to Marvell for the SE (I had the older non-SE myself, with Win2000). I'm not sure why WinXP thinks there are two of it  but you could do an Uninstall on both of them and then reboot and see if you end up with just one after WinXP re-detects.

It is in fact the SE. Sorry, should have mentioned that to begin with. The device manager issue seems to ahve cleared itself up. Thanks for the advice. Cheers.
