I have this one xp machine sp 2 that has a wireless g card in it and it can't get an ip address form the router. it's a belkin pre-n router and there aren't any resistrictions set up on it that would make that happen. It had an ip address for a bit but I think the router restarted or something and it lost it and now can't get it back. When I got to the browser config for the router it shows the pc and an ip address for it though. I don't get it. it's very aggrevating. Thanks

can anything get an ip from that router (wired or wireless)? perhaps you can try to reset it to factory defaults and try again. or see if there is a firmware update.

someone on hardforum suggested deleting the entry that the router has for the computer because it thinks it already assigned the computer an address. So I'll delete that computer from the routers dhcp list and it should get the ip again.
