Had an Abit BE6-II rev 1.2 and P3 w/ WinXP and upgraded to Soltek 75DRV-2 w/ AthlonXP 1700+. I didn't wanna format or anything so I was just going to deal with whatever happened with the new motherboard.

At first, I set the jumpers to 133 FSB and WinXP had a STOP error so I decided to reinstall on top of it. But I couldn't even get into the setup by booting from the cd. After an hour of pulling everything out, I switched the FSB to 100 and the setup ran fine. So now WinXP is fine and dandy but I'm at 100 FSB. =(

When I switch to 133, it freezes on me at bootup. It usually freezes after the boot screen disappears and the login screen is supposed to appear. On rare occasions, it gets 1 or 2 secs farther. I don't think it's heat because I got an SK6 with an 80mm 39CFM SunOn on it and room temp is pretty cold.

I've tried different voltages up to 1.850 and no help. I've also tried upping memory and agp voltages a notch but no use. Maybe it's a driver problem? I ran the Windows Update and they had an "AMD K7 Processor" update that was added on Jan 21. Just two days ago. I'm gonna try uninstalling that update and see how it goes.
