Can't get into the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P BIOS.

I just purchased the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P with a Q9550 cpu and I can't get it to post. It gets to the Gigabyte splash screen and then just hangs there. I can't get it into the BIOS.

I'm using a PS/2 keyboard (even tried 2 separate keyboards) and can't get into the BIOS. The only thing that I have connected at the moment other than the cpu and mobo is the graphics card (ATI 4870 1gb) and one stick of RAM. I wanted to get it down to the bare minumum to rule out parts.

I have a Corsair 750w power supply. I get the LED's to fire up on the motherboard, but it just hangs at the splash screen and won't let me into the BIOS.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Do you know the ram isn't bad? Have you reset the CMOS?

The only time it hangs for me is bad ram timings. Also, it may be a good idea to make sure everything is plugged in all the way. There have been times where the ram was just partially sticking out of the slot and the pc wouldn't post.

Reseat cpu. With the comp off, make sure all the power connections are secure. Check ram like Absolution said.

What brand/model is your RAM? Motherboard defaults to 1.8 Vdimm so if your RAM requires say 2.0 or 2.1 volts it won't boot. If you have access to another stick rated at 1.8 volts, boot with that, change the Vdimm in BIOS, save and shutdown. Replace the RAM and you should be able to boot.
