Can't get IE to save passwords anymore (option is grayed out)...

I had to install some software for my company recently, and in the process, it installed a customized version of IE (bleh). I've undone most of the stuff it changed, but can't seem to get it to remember passwords on forms anymore. When I go to Tools->Internet Options->Content, the "usernames and passwords on forms" is grayed out, unable to be checked. How can I re-enable this?

I don't have that option (IE 5.5, Win2k SP1). Closest thing to that is "Enable profile assistant" and that is already checked...

hmm.. my bad, it's enable profile assistance instead of user assistance....

anyways, the only thing left in my mind is tools -> options -> security -> user authentication (at the bottom).... other than that, i dunno....

sorry can't help.....
maybe reinstall IE ?? 🙂
