Can't get email to work (no server error) for my @home email via outlook express, is it my router? (SMC Baraccade)

I have @home cable, and I am a dumb @ss that knows a lot about LAN setup but knows nothing about setting up my email account. I was tring to setup my email via outlook express, I put in the mail server addy the logon and the pswd.. but I think my SMC router is blocking the outgoing traffic or something, I'm not sure.

Anyone help? I really need to get this email thingie setup.
