I use Win2k and @home as my ISP and I cant seem to get my email. First I tired setting the SMTP and POP3 servers to "mail" like I have to in win98, but that didnt work. So I tried "mail.home.com" and still no dice. What am I doing wrong?
thanks,

Either call your local @home tech support to ask for the pop3/smtp servers or find your own IP (something like <numbers>.<abbreviation of some place name>.home.com) and use mail.<all the stuff in the middle of your IP/hostname>.home.com for both servers.

Which version of @home d you have?? I use ATT @home, and are you using Outlook express that came with Win2K?? IF so then your outgoing will be mail, and the incoming will be netmail.home.com, but you have to sign in to your provider and add netmail support.

I use @home on my Win2K. Both my incoming and outgoing server is "mail" and I'm using the Outlook that came with Win2K.

Does it give you any error messages when you try to get your mail?

Try pinging mail. If you get an answer, it will give you the true name of your mail server. Use that name instead of just mail. If you get no answer when you ping, try to ping your gateway. If you cant ping the gateway either, then you have something wrong with your network settings.
