cant get digital speakers to work on a7n8x dlx

I have the latest drivers intalled for the on board sound but the digital speakers(boston accoustic ba735) wont make a sound. I plug in headphones to the same line out spot and I get sound. I have both analog and digital checked off in the nforce control panel. I know the speakers work but I cant get them to work now.

are you sure you did it right?
if u did, iunn how to help but the best thing i'd do is just buy a sound card

Did what right? I get sound from the headphones but not the speakers.
I dont want a sound card. This has on board soundstorm.
