Can't get DHCP connection

Using a D Link 4300, I suddenly can't obtain a DHCP connection. I plug the router in, it auto detects one, then begins a two minute countdown and drops the connection. Pressing the renew connection or release connection does nothing.

The line works OK, because I am using it right now with a different router that has no problems at all.

Any ideas what went wrong?

yeah, restored factory settings, rebooted it a billion times and I still get the same thing.

Have you rebooted the modem since your troubles began?
