hi to any networking afficionados...
i'm pretty competent when it comes to setting up networks, but what bums-me-out is that i can't get this one machine on the network! for some reason, a bogus IP keeps appearing on the settings, and i cannot seem to release or renew it (in order to hop on our DHCP).
i'm using a linksys 4-port router, and have tried to connect that computer directly to one of the ports, and tried to connect it indirectly via a hub -- to no avail.
is this possible that an IP address is somehow a permanent fixture on this NIC card? or am i just missing something here?
any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
RaDragon
