Can't get Audigy to detect

I just got an Audigy and put it in today and it doesn't auto detect. My SB Live works fine but the Audigy doesn't auto detect. I've tried different slots and can't get anything to come up. Do these things ever fail?

Did you uninstall the drivers for the live card before the install?

maybe you turned off auto-detect by the process or another option.
