Hi,

I have an ASUS 6600GT (PCI-E) connected via VGA to my Hitachi plasma working fine. When I try to use the DVI port on the video card it is as if there is not signal being sent to the plasma as it displays 'No Signal Detected' which I switch to this input.

Before you ask:

  • The cable is a Dual Link DVI-D cable from Belkin
  • The Plasma DVI connector is DVI-D and is meant for digital input from a PC
  • I have the latest NVidia drivers (71.84)
  • I have tried setting up multi-display using nView but the second display is picked up as the TV S-Video output
  • I have tried swapping the cable around in case it is unidirectional
  • I don't have another LCD monitor to test it against

Should the DVI port work automatically or do I need to change a jumper or set up something in the SW configuration?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Michael

The DVI port should work automatically after rebooting - at least it does on my 6600GT. No software settings that I know of, just the need to reboot with the DVI plugged in. The best thing really would be to test it out on an LCD monitor.

OK - I brought my LCD monitor home from work and tried both of the suggestions abovel.

1. Rebooting with just the DVI connection from the PC to my LCD doesn't work. It still doesn't seem to be detecting any signal.

2. Using the DVI-VGA adaptor does work so the DVI port must be active, if only on the analog pins.

Any suggestions on where to from here?

Thanks,

Michael
