Can't get ANY wireless signal inside my house

Looney

Lifer
I've been able to set up wireless connections inside my house for years, and nothing has changed, but now i can't receive any wireless connections reliably... meaning that most of the time i can't even see any wireless networks, and very occasionally i do, but it'll only be for a few seconds. And if i can connect on the very rare occasion, it'll die quickly.

I know this isn't a router issue, because i have 3 different routers, and i can't even see the commercial wireless service, or any other wireless connections (and i know a couple of neighbours do have them setup). And i know it's not my computers, because this is happening on a Dell and a Macbook (and i use the wireless connection at work just fine).

Anybody have any clues on what's happening? And any suggestion?

Nope, didn't get any new phones... in fact, i only have a cell phone, don't have home phone service.

Microwave is downstairs, and this is upstairs. And microwave hardly gets used anyways.

I did try it on different channels, 6 and 11 actually, and they didn't work. I guess there's a chance the neighbours got some new phones or something that could be interfering with it. I would try a 802.11n router, but none of my laptops are equipped with it.

802.11a equipment is dirt cheap...

It still doesn't matter as none of my laptops are 802.11a, and i doubt a single visitor to my house has 802.11a. The only thing that would benefit from that is my 360.

Anyways, i was able to get it working last night on channel 11... kinda odd, since that was one of the first channels i tried initially, but it was stable all night.
