Can't get a GTX 580m

Well, I'm on a hunt to put together a nice new gaming laptop and one of my stops (thanks to a kind contributor) was Sager/Clevo.

I picked the machine and assembled the product and noticed that there's no option for the GTX 580m. I emailed Sager and the salesman responded that they can't get the 580m because it's discontinued and their supplier is out.

This was quite to my surprise as the 580m GTX is their flagship mobile GPU and there are no other offerings on the table from Nvidia. What are we expected to buy? I emailed the salesman back with this thought. He responded in kind and told me that they had in fact discontinued this GPU and that there was another offering coming in the middle of April.

I have not seen nor heard any mention of the next generation of mobile GPUs from Nvidia.

Does anyone know about this? Did I miss something on AnandTech's website? Where can I get more information about the upcoming product line?

Thank you.

Thanks for that post.

So the 675m has the exact same specs as the 580m??

What's the point of changing the name of this chip? Seems rather pointless.
