Alright I just moved my 5.1 logitech z5500's into another room. I correctly plug in the cords into their corresponding ports and then do a system check (making sure 5.1 setting is still active).

I unplug ALL speaker cables and start with this:

I take the front right speaker cable and the rear left speaker cable and plug both into the right slots. I run a system check and this is what I get:

The front right speaker plays in the front left.
The rear left plays in the center (and so on).

I switch the front right speaker to the front leftport and now the speaker is playing in the center and the rear left speaker now plays in the rear right! And I haven't even touched that cable!

Whats going on?!

Note: "Sound" settings from control center indicate 5.1 surround, and the LED command box on the speakers is confirming 5.1 active.

Ok, so you're hooked up with three stereo 3.5mm cables, correct?

Your control pod is set to "6 channel direct"? (That's what Logitech calls it, right?)

When you say you moved the speakers into another room, what does that mean? You unplugged the speakers from comptuer X and then moved both the speakers and computer X into a different room, and now computer X has this strange behavior?
(Or is this a new computer hooked up?)

When you plug in all the logitech speakers to where they should be hooked up, and hook up all the 3.5mm analog cables from the computer to the logitech set, how does the set behave?

Ahh I figured it out!

I panicked, but realized the orange and black cables in the soundcard were switched. Finally got it.
