Cant get 5.1 on wmp in vista ult.

I have 5.1 in all other apps, tv, games and so. Cant figure out how to get wmp to use all speakers, it only uses the front 2.

What kind of media are you trying to play with wmp? Is it a 5.1 source or a stereo source?

Hrmmmm, just my mp3 collection, music. I had no problem with them playing on all speakers in xp??

Music is a stereo source, so having it just play in 2.0/2.1 is not something wrong with your equipment as it is being played back as intended.

What kind of soundcard are you using? I haven't used vista, so I'm not quite sure what's going on with that and wmp, but you may be able to get a fake surround mode going from your soundcard settings.

check the soundcard control panel for dolby pro logic or similar. it will likely be applied to all audio. i don't have any option for it in the wmp options, nor vista audio options.
