My friend currently have Leveno g570 with window 7 and he want to format the computer and in stall xp on it because of some program. However, when he try to do it, the computer say the hard drive is corrupted and won't precede. Can anyone help?

Not my issue, but is there a way to do it? He buy the laptop for his car tuning but the program will only work with xp.

Did you try the various compatibility modes with the program in Win7? I've only had a very small handful of programs that wouldn't work at all. If that fails try XP mode if it is Win7 Pro, otherwise VMware Player or one of the other virtualization programs.

Need more info

What is telling him the drive is corrupt? Is he using stand alone software to format, something built into windows 7, or booting from windows xp? He'd probably have the best shot using stand alone software to format properly to ntfs or just wipe the drive, and then use the windows xp disc to go from there.

Most likely, the XP install CD he is using, lacks the proper SATA drivers, so at some point during the install, it brings up scary messages about the HD not working.
