hi:

i'm using the aminf326.exe utility (from ecs) on bootable floppy with the 010816.rom file. when I boot to the floppy and execute the aminf326.exe file it says chipset type=sis735, flash part=winbond 49f002u, and then I get an error in red type ERROR 2- FILE DOES NOT EXIST.

HELP!

You need to first type in the flash utility, followed by a space and then the ROM file to flash to. Example: a:\aminf326.exe 010816.rom -where 010816.rom is the BIOS file you are flashing to and aminf326.exe is the flash utility. That is what I remember from what I read. Did you try this?

tech support e-mailed me the fix. on the same line type amiinf326 010724~1.wro don't forget the space in between the flash utility and file. it turned out it was the same bios I already had(7/24/01)I think, so I flashed the following(my board is w/lan) aminf326 010816.rom and it worked great! rock solid😀

hi:

thanks to all who responded to my question. yes, putting the "rom" file after the aminf326.exe file worked flawlessly. I now have the latest bios update. however, it is a little perplexing that ECS doesn't explain that (unless i missed it) on their website...thanks again...

Technican,

Don't feel too bad! I had the same problem. The directions on the ECS site do not tell you to do that, I had to try it 4 times before I figured it out.
