Basically my computer will not boot with the nvidia drivers installed. The screen will just go black (but not off) after the Windows XP loading screen, right when the logon box should come up... all computer activity stops and the keyboard is basically locked. In maybe 1 out of 25 tries it will actually boot into VGA mode (via F8), but it can take me hours to get that lucky boot. Once in XP I can raise the resolution back up and run everything normally. I haven't been able to boot up for hours though. I have the same problem with 3 different 6800GT's, usuing the 84.21 and 91.28 drivers, in either PCIe slot (A8NSLI Deluxe). This problem pretty much came out of nowhere. I currently have no drivers installed (removed them via safe mode) and don't know what step to take at this point. Problem has been around for a few weeks now, but I just can't seem to boot anymore, so it's time to fix this for good.

Could it be some corrupt driver settings lingering around the registry, etc.? I'm not up on all the latest video tools, but there used to be some utilities that would completely remove all video card entries from the OS. Is there still one around? Anything else I should look at?
