First off, I know this goes in Technical Support.....but I rarely get a reply there. So here it goes...

Our office network has 5 computers set up with one network printer (2 comps are new and I'm trying to get them set up w/ the printer). When I print a test page I get the printer name, model, share name, etc.... but no printer IP address. Is there anything else I can do to find out the printer IP address? Thanks a ton in advance.

It depends on the network adapter. If it's an external jetdirect box, then there's a test button on the box that will allow you to print a test page to the printer w/ the ip address on it. If it's internal, then printing some kind of a configuration page from the printer usually shows the IP addressing information. What make/model is the printer?

what kind of printer?
on HP's with the jet direct cards, there is a different page you print out, it has the network settings and of course the ip address

Then you should be able to go thru the menus on the printer itself and print a configuration page that will show the IP address information.

Edit: It should be under information, then configuration or something to that effect I think.

I got it guys...thanks for all your help. I just cut off the printer, then turned it back on and the JetDirect page printed. ;)

The ip should be listed on the config page or it's still trying to get one via DHCP. If it's working, but doesn't list it, go to printer --> properties --> ports.. it should list the port (ip address) in use.
