Can't find BIOS (*bin) for Compaq 731US

Looking - can't find the BIN file I need. Labtop won't detect any HD whatsoever. Need to reset everything and clear it all out. compaq's site runs a GUI based program - which does not help me. Any flash programs out there that I can run in DOS?

Hi, You don't need to flash the BIOS to clear the CMOS SETUP. Remove all power including main battery, locate the CMOS Battery. Remove it, wait a couple of hours and put it back. If your laptop actually uses CMOS BIOS it will have reset. Some laptops keep the BIOS and SETUP on the harddrive. Those probably wont have a CMOS Batt. Good Luck, Jim
