First I have serched the web and this forum and Anand,s networking pages and still can't find a solution.
All I have is 2 comps connected through nic cards and a crossover cable. Main comp running xp pro with a nic card connected to my cable modem and the onbord lan connected to comp 2 running windows ME. Ran network setup wizard on xp pro made a disk and ran it on second comp win me. And now I have Internet connection shareing works great. But no file shareing.I open the workgroups and they only see them, selfs. I have the same workgroup names on both, different comp names, have the book xp inside and out and have followed there directions. Have tried disableing the xp firewall have pc-cillion virus checker that has a simple firewall and have disabled it also makes no difference.
If anybody has any sugestions or questions that I diden't address I would greatly appreciate your help.

Yes I have folders shared on both computers.
There is no reason I should have to spend money on a router or a hub for 2 computers!!

You are right!

For $19 you get Hardware Routing.

Hardware Firewall.

SPI filters

DHCP server.

4 ports Switch for future expension.

No need to keep two computers on while using only one.

And the best ?Quirky? ICS will not act upon a Router user Ever.

$19 ha! The other day I did not succeed to convince a guy not to buy 10? of CAT5e made by Belkin for $35 (regular cable like this goes for $2).

I have to remind myself to be philosophical about it.
