Can't figure out where all my money goes

It's like after taxes/deductions, rent, car payment, insurance, food, etc. my bank account is barely getting any bigger. I'm not even a big spender, I have a $30 cell phone plan and refuse to buy those $250+ video cards.

Look at your other expenses. How often do you eat out? Do you buy sale items at the grocery stores? Do you get coffee from a coffeeshop on the way to work? Do you buy pop from vending machines? There are lots of ways to cut down expenses.

Example: I eat lunch at a local place 3-4 times a week, and I could definitely cut down on that. But I like the place I go, the people are friendly, it's cheap ($4.23 for a main dish, fried rice, an egg roll, and a drink), and I made a personal decision that it's just not worth my time to make a lunch for myself each morning.

get money or quicken and diligently track every expense for a couple months. it will become apparent where your money is going.

I guess I'll try that, I remember my friend uses excel for this.

I do eat out every day, but I only eat 1-2 meals a day and I try to keep the total cost per meal around 5-6 dollars.

Dunno, I kind of wish I could just move out of LA, it's crowded and stuff is expensive.

Welcome to the club!
I have more than my fair share of debt and I try to keep an eye on where my money goes but it still seems to vaporize. I think my biggest problem, perhaps yours too, is that often when buying groceries (I try to buy only what I need) I may get an extra $10 or $20. Then later that day or the next day it is like, "Whoa, I got an extra 20 bones in my pocket!" I believe these extra little withdrawls kill me. I keep track of where my funds that pays the bills and buys needed items but it is the few dollars here and there that add up which get me, I think.

Perhaps you have the same "problem" I do. You may need to really think about where every little dollar goes because those little dollars can add up to be a nice sum at the end of the month.

could you do somee sort of side business? Extra pocket money for food and such would help you so you can get some goodies, while you would bank most of your usual pay for necessities.

lol! I tell this to everyone:

"Women will want everything from you. Then they'll take half of what's left.";)

Inspired from some of the stories I hear from ATOT< most notably Ausm's women who took him for $250k.

no I'm single right now, so I suck twice since I have no extra reason for this money evaporating situation.
