Update: Son of a bitch, it started beeping again.

It's a Tappan Series 110. Appears to be of 80s vintage.

It has:
1. Switch labeled "Clock" and "Timer"
2. Button labeled hour
3. Button labeled minute

I've tried
1. Setting the switch to "clock." The timer beeps constantly in this setting (although it is not terribly loud, it is annoying to the point of madness).
1a. Pressing the hour button changes the time by an hour. Pressing the minute button changes the time by a minute.
1b. Holding the hour and minute buttons individually do the same.
1c. Holding the hour and minute buttons at the same time do the same.

2. Setting the switch to "timer." This causes the beeping to stop until the timer counts down to zero, then it beeps loudly and annoyingly.
2a. Pressing the hour button increases the timer by 1 hour, up to 1:59
2b. Pressing the minute button decreases the time by 1 minute.
2c. Holding the hour and minute buttons at the same time increases the time to 1:59 and then decreases it by 1 minute rapidly.
2d. Reducing the time to 0:00 with the minute button causes the timer to beep incessently.
2d1. Pressing the minute button again once the timer is at 0:00 resets the timer to 0:59.
2d2. Changing the setting to "clock" when the timer is at 0:00 causes the timer to continue to beep (quietly). Changing the setting back to "timer" at that point sets the timer to 0:59.

Any ideas on how to turn this thing off before it drives me crazy? :| I'm about ready to take the thing apart and disable the timer entirely; I never use it anyway.

If you have a model number, you can probably look up the user guide online. If you know the name of the manufacturer, you can probably call them and ask. :)

Didn't even make through the first line of the OP, I see. ;) I didn't find anything useful by googling the model number - like I said, it's very old so I wouldn't expect to find a user guide online.

Not a bad idea.

I just got it to stop beeping, but I don't know if it is temporary or not. I very carefully put the switch BETWEEN clock and timer. It's not a three-position switch - it doesn't click into place between the two settings, so I don't think it's supposed to work like this. But right now it is showing the clock time and it is not beeping. If 2 hours pass and it hasn't started beeping, I think I'm set.

What happens if you just let the thing beep for a full 60 seconds?

Just hit ESC or CTRL-C, CTRL-BREAK. Sometime CTRL/SHFT-^X

You're all set.

If that doesn't work, then reboot. If all else fails, upgrade to girlfriend 2.0. :D
