Can't fast forward or rewind using Windows XP MCE 2005.

I just did a clean install of MCE 2005 and applied the update rollup 2. For some reason I can't fast forward or rewind anything that I've recorded. I can only start videos from the beginning . I have to view everything with WMP if I want to skip around. I've searched google and found that other people have also had this problem but haven't found any solution.

No, what mpeg2 decoder...PowerDVD, PureVideo, etc. I don't know if maybe your card came with the decoder software and that's what you installed?

You can use the Video Decoder Checkup Utility to determine and change what decoder windows uses. Have you installed any other codec packs or FFDShow or anything? If so, it may have changed the decoder to something not entirely compatible with MCE.
