Can't enable DMA on DVD-ROM drive

Any suggestions on how to enable DMA on my DVD-ROM drive?

I enable in in device manager and when I reboot, it's disabled.

I'm running Win98SE and have only had this problem since I re-installed Windows.

Can you go to the Windows Update Site and see if there is an update related to DMA?

Do you have a creative sound card by any chance?
