I have an SB Live! X-Gamer and I wish to allow for SB16 emulation in DOS. There is a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager, and for the Device Status it says:
"This device cannot find and free Interrupt Request (IRQ) resources to use (Code 12.)"

The hardware troubleshooter says this device requires IRQ resources 5, 7, 9, or 10; my only available IRQ resource is 12. The current devices taking up those resources are:
* ATI TV-Wonder Video Driver
* ATI TV-Wonder Audio Driver
* VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
* Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter
* ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

If I don't have a printer connected directly to my computer but rather print over the network, can I disable the ECP Printer Port (LPT1)?

Thanks a lot guys!

I disabled the ECP Printer Port (LPT1) and sound in DOS emulation is working...

Are you using the latest Liveware 3.0 and drivers ? You should be able to have the Dos Emulator share IRQ 7 with your printer by going into the Device Mangaer, clicking on properties of your "Creative SB16 Emulation" and choose Settings. Put a check mark in the box for "Allow LPT Interupt Sharing "
