Can't download anything on IE 5.00

Hello,

I have had this problem for about 2 weeks. Whenever I try to download something a message box titled "Plugin Error" always appears saying: "The plugin did not initiliaze properly" and then the file won't download at all. The only way I can download a file is to access the sites ftp which works about once every three times.

Also would it be better if I just went and installed IE 6 instead?

Do you have the latest Service pack installed IE? I think it is sp2. Anyhow I ran into that about a year ago or so and the sp fixed it for me.
