Can't display 1680x1050

I just got a new LCD (225BW) for work and I am having issues setting it up.

I turned of my PC and swapped out my old monitor for my new one. booted up and the highest resolution that the control panel would give me in Windows 2000 was 1280x1024. I installed the drivers for the monitor and then installed the latest Nvidia drivers for my 5200. After doing that I rebooted and still the highest resolution I am given to choose is 1280x1024.

So now I am getting a little pissed but it is okay since I know that the Nvidia driver will let me define a custom resolution. So I go into the advance section of the control panel AND SET 1680X1050 @ 60Hz as my resolution (the default resolution of the LCD). I hit apply and the display shows a scrambled mess and goes back to 1280x1024 after 15 seconds.

I am at a loss here.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Maybe that card can't do widescreen and so it limits it you to the highest 4:3 ration your monitor can handle...

It turned out to be the card.

The card is a 5200 and I hooked it up to the VGA port and everything worked fine. I had a 6200 laying around so I popped that in my PC and the DVI port on that one worked fine. Since my office bought two of these monitors and the other person has a 5200 also it looks like I will be ordering another 6200 from NewEgg.com soon.

Thanks for the help guys.

Now I need to calibrate the thing the best I can since I will be using it for a lot of photoshopping.
