I have a Tyan dual (2462ung) mobo with the Phoenix BIOS. I was working on the computer on a very hot summer day and got the BSOD stating that there was a nondescript hardware issue. The computer froze, but did not shut down. I manually shut down the computer. My digital doc has been reporting temps of around 130-140 degrees. I'm thinking that a proc or something fried out because now when I try to restart, it will not post. Nothing.

Now, when I turn the power on nothing happens at all and when I press the restart button I get 4 short beeps (equally spaced). I cannot find any code references for 4 beeps anywhere. I don't know, maybe the point is mute at this point, but I would like to know what the computer is telling me. Any ideas??

Thanks!

Well, I broke the whole system down and started over. I tested it with one of the four RAM DIMMS and what do you know? -it posted! After testing each one of the 4 DIMMS independently I found one that caused my system to hang. It's weird that my computer wouldn't even POST with it before.

All I know is that I will NEVER NEVER buy CRUCIAL RAM again! This is the 3rd time in a year that I've had a nervous brakedown because of a bad stick of crucial RAM!!!

BAN CRUCIAL!!!!
