Can't detect wireless connection

I'm having a little problem setting up my wireless network. Currenly I have two computers, one set up as wireless and another connected directly to my router. I also have a wireless laptop but can't seem to connect to my network. It can't detect the signal at all while my other computer with the wireless card connects just fine. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.
 
Are you sure the laptop wireless adapter works at all?
You don't give a lot of info, but most laptops with wireless built-in have a switch or button to turn the adapter on or off.
