can't delete spysweeper.exe

I can't seem to delete spysweeper.exe from task manager. I found the folder "webroot" but there isn't an option to uninstall it.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I believe that has been out for a while. Superantispyware Mawarebytes should do a good job of taking care of this. If it has been on there very long, be prepared for other junk to be found as well. When you are done and all is clean again, make a new restore point and erase all the old ones.

Try their own official procedure first (copy and paste the link into the address bar):

I tried the add/remove way, but there isn't a webroot file.
So it seems i have to create a system restore point and dl WRUpgradeTool.exe in order to get rid of it.

When i click on start>all programs, the webroot file is not located on there.
But when i go to my computers>program files then i see the webroot file.
Should i delete the file? I dont think that would solve the problem.
Very odd.
Its been there a while. I tried to stop it from running by opening up task manager, but it won't let me.
So i just didn't think about it for a while. But it is bugging me now.

Thanks cubby1223.

Glad you got that taken care of. Good link from cubby. Insane that it takes such to remove a program.

Not really. The purpose of anti-virus software is to protect the computer from harmful programs. So then what is the first goal of a harmful program? Damage the anti-virus software.

That's why most anti-virus software have a separate downloadable uninstall tool available.

I guess I have just never come across one that does, which does include spyspweeper from years past and a dozen (or more) other programs. Most just give you additional warnings that require additional user intervention before they proceed.
