Hi,

I have 2 PC's both running windows XP PRO. I can't seem to delete MSN Game Zone in one of them. (the other it went no prob)

Nothing is using it, and I surely don't need it.

Any ideas??

Thanx

Well, have you rebooted the one you managed to delete it on? What did you do to delete it? That folder is part of the "Windows File Protection", and will always be recreated if you do manage to delete it. Absolutely no reason for it, and unfortunately there seems to be no way to dictate which folders are protected by Windows.

Hmm... Well yes, it is completly gone on the other PC. I didn't do anything special just hit delete. I will say this though. That copy was my free copy I got for being a certified partner. (Don't know why that should matter though.)

The one I am trying to delete has a subfolder called "windows" in it. It's not actually Windows lol, and it's totally empty... yet no can delete. I will never use the MSN Gaming Zone, wonder why they wish to protect it so.

Because like all advertisers, they think that just having a name in front of a million people might result in one of them signing up. :)

I think though that that folder is used by some component of WinXP that isn't installed by default, or that might be used by some future component, or something along those lines. One never knows why Microsoft does things like this. You also can't remove the Microsoft Frontpage folder permanently.

I guess like MS outlook express too then. (since I own office XP I have the full one) I went into add/remove and told it I to remove it. It did. But the folder is still there, and I can't remove that either.
