Cant delete folder

i recenly formatted my computer and installed WinXP, on this machine i have 3 harddrives

80gig sata (which has windows on a 20gig partition)
120gig pata (regular storage)
200gig pata (regular storage)

after formatting and installing all the windows updates, i noticed that on the 200gig drive some folders showed up with long file names...the folders had a bunch of numbers as teh folder name...in each folder there was a folder named sp1...i cant access the sp1 folder..it tells me access denied..i cant delete th long file name folders..it says "make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the ifle is not currently in use", i dont think there is anything accessing these folders and everytime i uncheck the readonly property it just comes back as readonly....i tried to go to safemode and delete the folder but it wont delete..i tried using the command promt and RMDIR but still wont delete...how do i get rid of these folders?

these folder belong to the file system. you can't delete them. a better way to "get rid" of them is to not show system files.

no i dont think they are system folders because when i select dont show system files, they are still visible. also out of the many times i reformatted these folders never showed up before..

by the way i was able to rename these folders...but i still cant delete them

i tried both ways using ERD and unlocker and both did not work...anyone have more suggetions these folders are annoying...

Pull the drive and hook it up as a slave on another pc. Take ownership of the folder if necessary.
