Can't delete certain Temp Internet Files

Hey, All,

My sister used my computer a few days ago to book an airline flight. The airline's site deposited some Temporary Internet Files in the cache, of course.

Prob is, there are about 90 of these files and they cannot be deleted. I went to empty my Temp Internet Files today, and all the other Temp Internet Files were deleted except these related to the airline site.

I've re-booted, de-fragged, tried rite-clicking on them, etc., but they've decided they're not going anywhere. :| Any of you guys ever run across something like this before and/or know what I can do to delete these files?

If it mattters, I'm running W2KPro with all current patches, Service Packs, etc., on an old Gateway Celeron 333 box (stop laughing). And yes, I have a new machine on deck to replace this one very soon, but in the meantime I'd like to empty these files. 😀

I use a nice little app called CCleaner to do that for me. Highly recommended... try it out and see if it gets rid of those pesky files. g/l

If you boot in safe mode does anything change?

have you right clicked on the IE icon on the desktop --> Properties -->click on "delete files" under temporary internet files? You can do the same for the cookies and history if you prefer.

That worked! 🙂

Sheesh ... you'd think I'd have thought of that.  I delete my History folder & Cookies all the time that way, and I sometimes do it from the Tools drop-down menu from within IE, but I just didn't think to try that this time. What I was doing was trying to delete them from my desktop shortcut folder to Temporary Internet Files. It has always worked before ....

I have no idea why they wouldn't budge from there but disappeared in a flash using the other method. Oh well, prob solved.

Thanks a mil, siliconhills. 😎

I thought I'd try siliconhills' suggestion first, since it was quick & easy, and it worked, so I don't know if that would have helped. Good thought though. Thanks. 🙂
