Can't decide: which DC project to join?

I just don't know...

I've got two systems to donate that would be able to work most of the time; check out the Bebop and Hammerhead rigs in my signature. I'll talk to my girlfriend, too - if she wants to help, count the Viper rig in. All systems are AMD rigs, if that makes any difference. I don't know if any of these are optimized for specific CPUs or not.

Edit - after doing a little reading, I know my gf will probably lean toward Distributed Folding or F@H - She's a Biology major, after all. So that's one decision made. Still not sure which one to run on my systems, though.

Yeah, just about every team could use you atm. The SETI people are holding off an attack, those of us doing SOB have been battling hard to overtake the #1 team (who is in the middle of a big ramp up that is making it tough for us), D2OL is fighting to keep their #1 ranking...we're being assaulted from all sides more or less 😉. Any project you choose will be helpful. I hate to admit it, but I am a physicist and mathematician, and I can't pass up good solid mathematical problems, which is why I went with SOB.
 
With chessbrain, you can work full speed at chessbrain (and move up the ranks quickly since it is a small project) and only lose 10% on another project.
 
I'd suggest F@H, because we're not doing very well overall (TA is in 22nd place in F@H), and we're about to be passed by 2 teams in a short time, with others threatening to pass us later.
 
OK, so far:

F@H on Viper - still have to talk to my girlfriend, but it shouldn't be a problem.

SETI on Bebop.

TA is a small group of crazeeee crunchers! ANy team can benefit from your work. There are a lot of malnutritioned teams (everyone forgets UD for example) but we as a team need to be proud of our standings...especially for such a small team...

and b/c i know Engineer is coming soon to this thread...

Wouldn't running 2 DC projects on the same machine be counter-productive? Unless you've got a dualie, of course 😛

Due to the nature of the project, ChessBrain only processes data some of the time, for example, i run SETI on low priority and CB on below_normal, my seti times havent changed much at all.
When i look @ CPU time, CB has used 30min of cpu time out of 7hrs so not much performance hit to SETI at all 🙂

Hope i havent confused you too much 😛
 
Now that I think about it, I may ask my brother about running the Climate model project on his - he's always been interested in weather. So we might be able to add his computer (Redtail) to the TeAm as well.

Still haven't gotten my SETI password - I wonder if I didn't type the address in correctly when I set the program up...is there any way to change this?

I'm not - I'm using my university e-mail account, which has no filters that I know of.

If you mistype your email you will need to reregister . There is no way to change your seti password or the email address without the password so all you can do is another account with the correct email address

w00t! Got my password and got the account set up. 2WUs sent in so far. Production should pick up now that I've got everything set. If I didn't have to use my laptop for class so often, I'd set it to work, as well.

EDIT: My poky old k6-2 400 is pluging away at S@H now, too. Not fast by any stretch, but it's on 24/7, more or less. Should contribute a few more WUs, at least.
