Can't Decide on a New CPU/Motherboard Combo

Currently running a old i5 650 (4ghz with intel turbo boost) with a MSI P55 Fuzion, 1600 mhz (4x2gb) corsair vengeance
i have a Corsair TX650, H100, and SSD (fanboy much?)
also an Asus 7850.

i usually do some heavy/mild gaming. (mostly multi-online) and i'm a huge user of Adobe stuff like Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver. and tend to also use a lot of browser stuff for processing and working. (graphic/web designing and developing).

this rig was originally a dell factory pc which got ripped the $%#K out until there is only the CPU that is the only thing that was carried into the build.

I'm trying to decide on a new cpu/motherboard combo in the haswell/ivy series. i'd love to overclock (guides!) and all i'm asking for is fast boot times, more frame rates (i have 2 monitors at full hd, only one used for gaming). and faster image rendering in browsers and adobe's software.

(i like to leave the computer on 24/7)

UPDATE: did some research, i really like the 4770k and MSI gd65 z87. i was hoping for running a 4.5/4.8 ghz 24/7 (all for around $550)
but i'm not sure if thats considered too much spending, downgrading to the i5 isn't a big deal for what i'm asking for... right??

From reviews so far you'll be pushing it for 4.8 unless you add in some water cooling as well.

edit:

Ah, I see you have a H100 already.

Have a read of the HOCP review.

70% of CPUs can clock to 4.5GHz

30% of CPUs can clock to 4.6GHz

20% of CPUs can clock to 4.7GHz

10% of CPUs can to 4.8GHz

Overall you will find most CPUs capable of reaching 44x to 45x with varying levels of voltage.

Depends heavily on the silicon lottery. Even 4.4-4.5GHz can be iffy if you need significant voltage to get there.
