Can't Decide! Nikon Coolpix 4500 or Canon Powershot G2??

ok, which camera to get. both are 4 MP with Coolpix having a 4x opt and G2 a 3x opt

I've seen the pic quality first hand of a G2 but if the coolpix is the same pic quality, more opt is always better.

I personally own the Canon G2. Took excellent pictures with it and didn't even read the manuals. I have since studied the manuals and used the controls on the camera and find them intuitive and user friendly.
Excellent battery life too. I would recommend this camera to novice or pro. You won't be disappointed
