Can't decide between ABIT or MSI

In trying to decide which mobo for my new PC I cannot seem to decide between the ABIT IC7 and the MSI Neo-LSR. So it omes down to the companies themselves, which one has better reliability, greater software utilities for download, and regular BIOS updates?

Wow you don't like MSI at all? Is there some experience you had with them I should know about? 😉

Dont even get me started. I've had a few. They all stunk. I'm not the only one that has had loads of problems with them.

Only because of the bad luck I've had with them. I'm not alone either. I gave them one last chance recently against my better judgment. Big mistake.

IC7 is a very nice board. I have one and am happy with it. It replaced the MSI board I had that went up in smoke and took my PS with it.

I've had numerous problems with MSI boards and even Abit boards. The least amount of problems with Asus.

If you want any chance at stability & overclocking then STAY AWAY from crappy MSI 865/875 mobos , they are complete crap & i am being kind . :disgust:

I had one for ablout 4 weeks & nothing but problems, then got an Asus P4P800 & it was like night & day, easy overclock to 3.2ghz (P4C 2.4ghz) with Asus while the MSI coulndt even boot over 215mhz.

My pick would be the Abit IC7. I love my Abit IS7. The layout is near-perfect from my stand point. My only beef is that the AGP is close the the DIMM slots, which makes adding or removing memory take one extra step becuase I have to remove my video card (GF4 Ti4600). Other than that the mobo is perfect. I love Abit's BIOS and their tech support/RMA is great.

My Abit IS7 had a problem where BIOS would repeatly give me BIOS Error, Checksum error. After talking with tech support, I remove the mobo from the case to see if I was shorting on the case. I RMA the mobo there affter. The replacement mobo functions without an problems. 100% stable with GAT=Turbo with relaxed memory settings. Get the Abit, u won't be sorry.
