Ok, I finally got my video card in and hooked everything up.

But, there's a problem.

First off, the HD is loaded with drivers for my previous mobo (MSI K8T) and video card (xfx 6600) and I can't get into windows at all; not even in safe mode. Is there a way to get into Windows?

Second: I put the ASUS driver disc into my DVD, and when I get those 6 options in DOS (1-4 are to create RAID drivers, 5 is to format the disc and 6 is something else), if I try formatting the disc it says that there's some error. WTF? I noticed that it's trying to go to drive B: even those my floppy is Drive A: according to the BIOS. If I select option 1, I get some other error.

Help!!

You need to reformat and reinstall your os.

First, you need to go into the bios and setup the sata port that you are using. If using the nv sata ports, then you need to go to the Onboard Device Configuration and enable the sata ports you are using. If using the nv sata ports, then enter NVRaidConfiguration and enable Raid Enabled which gives you access to configuring the nv sata ports and any drives you have attached. Now go to the Boot Menue and set the priority cdrom then hardisk then removablr.

Now scroll down to Hard Disk Drives and see if your drive is listed. Save and exit.

On the reboot, I believe you need to enter the nv raid utility to define your disk for the os to be able to see even if you aren't going to run more than one drive.

From there, you should be able to wipe your disk, and go about a normal install of the os. If not setting up a raid array (with more than one disk) then you shouldn't have to make a raid driver disk as WinXP will natively see the drive for partitioning and formatting.

Im building a RAID 0 and not sure where to start.

The above post is helpful but Ive never done this and not sure if I will definitely need the floppy drive.

1. Do I need to disconnect my current drive (IDE PATA) with OS?
2. If I connect the two drives do I then enable them in the BIOS?
3. Then Onboard Congig
4. Then NVRAID Config
5. Then wipe drives and build RAID (does this need floopy?)

Also, my floppy is enabled but when I put a disc in and click on A: it asks me to insert a disc. WTF?

Thanks,

Scott

If running a raid array, you'll need to make the floppy disk to use when installing your os.

Edit: For a Raid 0, yes you want to disconnect your current p-ata drive and install the pair of serial ata drives on the nv controller (1&2). Follow the above instructions, making sure you run the nv raid utility to set up the drives.
