Can't connect wireless pc to network

This is the situation:

I have a home network of 2 PCs using Ethernet, and I want to add a 3rd PC but wirelessly.
We are all using WinXP.
I am not sure yet what kind of wireless card is being used for the 3rd PC.
The Modem/router is a Speedstream 6300.

The message I'm getting when trying to connect with the 3rd PC is this one:
"You might not be able to access the internet. This problem ocurred because the network did not assigned a network address to the PC."

Unfortunately the owner of this 3rd PC is not around just now, so I cannot check what configuration he has in his Network Connections/Local Area Connection.
Could it be that he simply doesn't have it set to "Obtain address automatically" ?

Thanks in advance,

JDL

No, that message is saying the DHCP client is looking for a DHCP server but not finding one. Look a the utility. If your associated to the AP but not getting and IP, actually if you look at the connection status and are sending but not receiving data, then it's an encryption issue most likely.
