cant connect to network

ok i finally got my computer built and installed windows...now im having problems connecting to my network... i tried running the Set up a home or small office Network Wizard but it says it cant run for some reason. why cant i run the wizard?

Anything in event viewer? Do any errors pop up?

nope i dont get any errors, it just says in the wizard box Cannot run wizzard or something similar to that and says click cancel to finish the wizard, next is greyed out

Almost sounds like an error to me. Anything in event viewer?

ehh sorry bout this but, whats the event viewer? ;/ and could it be because i dont have the driver installed? all i got with my mobo was a floppy for drivers and i dont have a floppy drive yet ;/

If you don't have a network device, it probably won't run.

If you don't know what event viewer is... Start -> Control panel -> administrative tools -> event viewer

IIRC, your mobo is nForce4? Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager and see if you've got a network adapter in there. If not, you'll want to DL the nVidia nF4 driver package from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp. Pick the version that's appropriate to your verson of Windows and to your chipset. Do NOT install the nVidia Network Access Manager or nVidia Firewall if you see the option, people seem to have problems coping with it.

The nVidia drivers should enable the native nVidia network adapter. Some mobos have a second one that uses alternate drivers. If in doubt, consult your mobo manual for which is which.

man youre my hero seems like you know how to fix all of my problems i gotta try this out first though

from that first box i go to platform/nforce drivers right? then in the 2nd one i go to nforce AMD cause my processor is AMD right? then i just choose my ver of windows and download?

also when i try to play music it tells me that no audio device is installed...should i also download the nforce audio driver from nvidia?

nope didnt get a CD...they never shipped it to me i guess...i got a floppy but it only had SATA RAID drivers
BUT
i downloaded the drivers from nVidia and installed them and now everything is working! thanks a lot guys
