So I just got DII and am trying to play on battle.net, however the username box in DII doesn't allow enough characters. Battle.net is using my email address as my username and I don't see any place to change that. How can I play this game I paid for?

Uhh. It's battlenet. Just make a new username? It's not like they're stopping you.

My keys are already registered to one account.

You'be been playing too much WoW. You can have a million accounts on one cd-key in diablo 2. I usually have 5 or 6.

We must be talking about different games. I own StarCraft, Diablo, Diablo II, WarCraft, WarCraft II, and WarCraft III. I currently STILL play WC3 for DotA, and your CD key has absolutely nothing to do with any registration and is only used to ensure that when you are connected online you have a unique CD Key to prevent piracy.

Keys are not registered to accounts. Simply start up Diablo II, click "create account" and put in a new username and password. It doesn't even require an e-mail address (though they definitely attempt to persuade you into doing it) for you to register the account.

Oh, well I remember doing Hell Meph runs in under a minute with Mouspad's maphack back in the day. Now it takes a while to TP around and fine durance level 3.

Here's why I was saying I thought it was linked... I had a key but no discs, so I registered the keys on a new battle.net account to get the download client. I thought it was linked because of that, but I guess not. I've never had a battle.net account before so I didn't know how it worked.

Theres plenty of bot games doing hell baal runs, mainly for XP though, they just kill the bosses and lister then make a new game automatically. I have no idea how the bots work though, but anyone can join their games, you just gotta find the channel they operate out of or join a bot game in progress through luck.

Some bots kill baal and its a free for all for the loot, the bots character only seems to pick up extremely rare things, everything else is fair game.

I'm surprised people have those things running even though Warden is going now. I forgot the name of the program they probably paid for..

Mousepad's mh works for 1.12, but is a bit buggy. There's another one that works better, but I've forgotten the name. I think it starts with "e"... you can search jsp's forums maybe. I used both extensively and didn't get banned - but I didn't use any other third-party programs, so ymmv. Sorry to be vague, but I only get the urge to play for a few months every couple years, and my last stint ended 2-3 months ago when I got bored, deleted my mh and uninstalled.

OP - just create a new account.

Yep, but EPLite now seems to be tracked by Warden too and boots you from the game... Not aware of any current MH's...

The bots are still running fine, and are just nice script systems without code insertion involved, so warden doesn't catch them at the moment... You can find them via google, or join up with a current Clan and ask around..

I just stared playing a bit of D2 again a few weeks ago in anticipate of D3... There should be a ladder reset coming soon, at least that was the conversation in early May... It will be coming with the new 1.13 patch... I was surprised to hear they were still patching this thing...
